LEWEB3: SAM SETHI FIRED BY TECHCRUNCH

I will be looking for work and writing on www.vecosys.com“; Sam is referring to a stunning ‘Deja Vu‘ comment left by Six Apart’s Loic Le Meur on the TechCrunchUK blog in which he calls out Sethi as ‘an asshole’. It all seems rather reminiscent of LesBlogs 2005…

LE WEB 3, DAY 2: LOIC LE MEUR MINISTRE?

Toute conférence subit des ajustements. Quand un homme d’Etat du calibre de Shimon Peres s’ajoute en dernière minute à l’agenda, le public a certainement l’impression de recevoir un cadeau. Même si pour cela d’intéressantes conférences programmées doivent être écourtées ou annulées. Mais là, Loïc a à mon sens outrepassé son pouvoir d’organisateur. C’est au soir du premier des deux jours de la conférence qu’il annonce la venue d’hommes politiques en vue. Les candidats à la présidentielle François Bayrou, puis Nicolas Sarkozy ont accepté en dernière minute son invitation à venir s’exprimer devant le nombreux public de LeWeb3. Bouleversant le programme orienté technologie et business de la conférence.

LOIC LE MEUR: BETRAYING 1000 ATTENDEES FOR HIS OWN POLITICAL AMBITIONS?

medium_CHERRY_PICKING.4.jpg(By NICOLE SIMON / Source: Cruel to be kind – Germany) Last year at Leblogs we had the problem of being promised a high profile event, like “the” major event in this regard and got took by surprise how the audience was not really even. A lot of more geeky people (as being early adopters and ahead of the curve) met the more normal people. This year I was expecting differently: No approach as a high end conference to the early adopters with real impulses, real new interesting discussion but I was aware that with 1000 people coming I would not be among my peers only but would be in the 'consulting' role. I was fine with that as it would also give me a chance to meet a lot of new and known people. It was clear that though a lot of the speakers had more to say it would be difficult to get into deeper discussion.
