HUMAN RIGHTS AND CONDOLEEZZA RICE : WHO SAID IT!

MEETING WITH CUBAN DISSIDENTS IS CONSIDERED A CRIME

On December 5, two citizens of Russia and one citizen of Poland underwent a thorough police examination in the Varadero airport in Cuba when departing from the country. Materials which customs officers and the police considered "counterrevolutionary" were confiscated from two of them. The Russian citizens, Maria Bulgakov and Aleksandr Podrabinek, and one citizen of Poland, were detained for a short period for a thorough examination of their luggage. Customs officers and police accused them of connections with Cuban dissidents and attempts to export "counterrevolutionary documents" from the country.
